ABOUT PRODUCTID 26564
This coffee table, designed by Felix De Boussy in 1976 in Belgium, exemplifies the artisanal craftsmanship of late modernism. The rectangular top is crafted from etched brass in a vivid golden tone with a subtle satin sheen, adorned with rhythmic, hand-etched abstract geometric motifs. At the center, a single agate stone with creamy white and translucent hues, accented by touches of beige and gold, forms a unique compositional focal point. A thick, polished brass frame surrounds the top, heightening the sense of luxury. The base consists of a substantial, rectangular plinth lacquered in deep black, complemented by a horizontal brass accent at its lower edge. The table’s proportions are bold and monolithic, echoing the spirit of late-1970s Belgian modernism, with clear influences from brutalism and art deco. Materials include etched brass, lacquered wood, and natural agate. The brass surface is smooth with visible etching; the plinth is uniform and glossy. The table is in very good vintage condition, displaying only minor patina and light surface marks typical for its age, with no major damage or restoration.
