Designed by Maurizio Salvato for Saporiti Italia, this coffee table is an emblematic piece of 1980s Italian postmodernism and a pure expression of the Memphis movement. The table’s composition is defined by dynamic, sculptural interplay: a wavy, asymmetrical rectangular top in vibrant, cool purple overlays a large circular pink disc beneath. Both surfaces are crafted from lacquered wood or MDF with a high-gloss finish, creating striking reflections and intensifying the bold colour palette. The structure is supported by solid, cylindrical legs, also lacquered in purple, with no visible hardware, emphasising the seamless, coherent form. A key feature is the rotating mechanism, which allows the arrangement of the table tops to be adjusted—offering flexibility in function and visual impact.
