ABOUT PRODUCTID 34571
This vintage coffee table from the 1960s, inspired by Coco Chanel’s signature style, is a striking example of Hollywood Regency aesthetics. Its sculptural base, crafted from gilt metal in a warm, matte gold finish, displays an authentic patina typical for genuine vintage pieces. The construction consists of meticulously shaped wheat stalks and heads, gathered and bound at the center with a metal 'rope', creating a dynamic and organic form. The round tempered glass top, with polished edges, showcases the decorative base and adds an impression of lightness and contemporary flair. The proportions are carefully balanced: a wide, transparent tabletop (75 cm diameter) contrasts with the intricate, clustered golden structure (height 47 cm). The table is preserved in very good condition, with an elegant patina on the metal and minor traces of use, free from major defects or visible restorations. The table’s form evokes the narrative of the 1960s, a decade when European interiors were increasingly influenced by French luxury and motifs drawn from nature. The sheaf of wheat motif, both symbolic and sculptural, references Parisian salons and a lifestyle where ornament and comfort coexist. The gilded metal softly reflects light, while the transparent glass top allows the dynamic arrangement of wheat stalks to be fully appreciated—as if golden summer has been captured in a functional object. The piece seems to tell a story of metropolitan sophistication and nostalgia for an era when craftsmanship was truly artistic. This type of table could be paired with rounded upholstered armchairs or a pastel velvet sofa to accentuate its retro character
