ABOUT PRODUCTID 42409
This Art Deco console from the 1950s offers a refined example of postwar Polish craftsmanship, where architectural geometry is balanced with decorative elegance. Crafted from walnut wood, the piece features a harmonious silhouette: strong, symmetrical lines and distinctive stepped shelves on both sides. The rich, natural walnut grain is accentuated by a glossy finish, while the central drawer—adorned with a round gold-toned knob—adds a subtle decorative touch. Proportions are thoughtfully composed: a wide tabletop, symmetrical shelving, and a solid, stable base create a unified form without unnecessary ornamentation. Professionally restored, the console is in excellent condition, showing no visible signs of wear, damage, or repair. The console speaks to an era when function and aesthetics went hand in hand. Within the walnut veneer and lustrous surface, one senses the spirit of 1950s modernism, as Polish interiors broke away from prewar tradition with bold geometry and measured, yet striking, decorative detail. The confident lines and well-considered form reflect the era’s trust in quality materials and the clarity of design. It may be paired with an upholstered armchair in rounded forms or a simple, geometric mirror above the top to emphasize its architectural rhythm. In a collector’s space, the console would serve as a focal point in the hallway or as a statement piece beneath functional art in the living room. It is worth combining with a lamp featuring brass details or expressive ceramics to bring out the walnut’s depth and golden accents, creating a setting rooted in classic Art Deco or modern vintage style.Dimensions: height 81 cm, width 120 cm, depth 40 cm. Constructed from walnut wood, with a gold-colored drawer pull. Console professionally restored and in excellent, ready-to-use condition.
