This Danish pendant lamp, designed by Bent Nordsted for Lyskaer in the 1980s, embodies the Scandinavian approach to lighting where function and clarity of form take precedence. The lamp's construction is based on several concentric aluminum discs in a crisp, neutral white satin finish, arranged in a cascading tier that softly diffuses light in multiple directions. The largest disc, finished in a creamy tone underneath, enhances the diffusion effect. The shade features no visible screws or joints – instead, smooth, seamless surfaces reflect the precision of its making. The lamp is suspended from a black textile cord and completed with a new metal ceiling rose. It measures 47 cm in diameter and 25 cm in height. Condition is very good, with only minor discoloration characteristic of natural aluminum patina.This lamp tells the story of Denmark in the 1980s, when simplicity was synonymous with the search for harmony between light and space.
