ABOUT PRODUCTID 42771
This Danish corner display cabinet from the 1960s is a rare example within mid-century modern design, distinguished by its trapezoidal form and the warmth of teak veneer. The body, finished in a semi-matte, medium teak brown with a subtle reddish undertone, is supported by slender, tapered solid wood legs—most likely teak or beech. The front features a single glass door framed in matching teak veneer, with a visible lock and keyhole adding a functional accent. Inside, two teak-veneered shelves offer space for displaying ceramics or glassware. The proportions are balanced, and the elevated stance imparts visual lightness, while the meticulous joinery and seamless panel transitions highlight the quality of Danish craftsmanship from the 1960s. The cabinet is preserved in good vintage condition, with minor scratches and professionally restored small losses, yet all components—including glass and hardware—are original and well-maintained.This piece tells the story of an era where form and function were thoughtfully combined for everyday comfort. The cabinet, restrained in decoration, carries the spirit of rational design—where every detail mattered. The warm wood tones and understated lines evoke the image of 1960s Danish interiors: orderly yet inviting, where even a corner became a stage for treasured and beautiful objects. Light passing through the glass door softens the shelves, while the subtle sheen of the veneer reflects the changing ambiance throughout the day.The cabinet could be paired with a low, geometric sofa or mid-century armchairs to create a cohesive narrative in the living room. It would perform well alongside light-colored walls that accentuate the warmth of the wood, and minimalist lighting with brass accents. The shelves might display a collection
