This large crystal paperweight, crafted in Silesia at the end of the 19th century, reflects the mastery of European glassmaking of the era. The piece was formed by hand-blowing transparent glass into an almost perfect sphere, slightly flattened at the base for stability. The surface is smooth and highly polished, with a clarity that reveals a rich millefiori-style composition embedded at its base—vivid fragments of red, orange, green, yellow, white, and black glass establish a lively decorative accent. At the center sits a three-dimensional floral arrangement: white glass petals delicately veined in blue, creating an impression of organic lightness. Characteristic air bubbles are trapped within the glass, enhancing visual depth and attesting to traditional glassworking skill. The paperweight is free from chips or cracks; its brilliant finish and intact form confirm a very good state of preservation for an object of this age.This glass sphere tells a story of the late 1800s, when everyday objects were elevated to the level of decorative artistry.
