The “Ada” cup is a design by Wincenty Potacki for the Ćmielów Porcelain Works, dating from the 1960s/70s—a showcase of Polish modernist porcelain. The vessel’s form is defined by a geometric, slender silhouette with straight sides and a lightly flared base, embodying the mid-century modern spirit. The upper part of the cup and the entire saucer are finished in a glossy, deep black, overlaid with an irregular gold pattern reminiscent of crackle or veining, which reflects light and adds visual dynamism. These decorated sections are set off by pure, mirror-like white porcelain on the lower portion of the cup and the center of the saucer. The handle is delicately shaped and accented with a fine gold line. The set stands out for its flawless surface finish and high-quality glaze.
