ABOUT PRODUCTID 33018
This Biedermeier cup and saucer set, dating from the mid-19th century, is a representative example of French porcelain with classic provenance. Crafted from high-quality porcelain in a cool, bright white shade, the set features a faceted, gently fluted bowl and a classic, ornate handle, both characteristic of the Biedermeier style. The surface of the cup and saucer is adorned with hand-applied, radiating gold lines, gold-trimmed edges, and a decorative gold ring inside the cup. The gilding ranges from matte to slightly satin in finish and displays visible wear, especially along the rim of the cup and the edge of the saucer. The proportions remain harmonious, with the cup sitting on a small foot and the saucer echoing the faceted motif and gold decoration. The porcelain surface is smooth and glossy, free from visible cracks, with minor abrasions and a small chip on the underside of the saucer. The overall condition is very good for its age, with patina and wear consistent with genuine antiques, and no signs of recent restoration.
