ABOUT PRODUCTID 36086
This cup from the Josefina Glassworks is an accomplished example of late Biedermeier Silesian design from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The vessel’s body is crafted from a deep, cool-toned pink crystal, enhanced by vertical, multi-faceted cuts that amplify the interplay of light across its surface. The handle and the base—both clear, colorless, and highly transparent—offer a refined contrast to the colored bowl, highlighting both the craftsmanship and the subtle geometry of the form. The handle is robust and ergonomically shaped, while the octagonal, faceted base ensures stability and introduces a geometric accent characteristic of the era. The proportions are balanced: a gently bulbous body tapers toward the base, complemented by a solid and elegantly curved handle. The piece is preserved in very good condition, free from visible chips, cracks, or signs of wear. This cup, echoing the voice of turn-of-the-century Silesia, tells a story of an era when craftsmanship and everyday ritual mingled with aristocratic restraint. The pink crystal reflects light like a piece of jewelry at a morning tea
