The Hyacinth cup and saucer set is an Arthur Percy design for the Swedish Gefle manufactory from the 1960s. Crafted from faience, it features a saturated cobalt blue on the cup’s exterior, saucer rim, and handle. The surface is adorned with a repeating stylized hyacinth motif in varying shades of blue, creating a subtle gradient and decorative rhythm. The interior of the cup and underside of the saucer reveal a soft, bluish-white glaze with a slightly translucent faience texture, all finished to a high gloss. The slender handle is seamlessly integrated, while the proportions – a cup gently flaring towards the rim and a delicately curved saucer – reflect the balanced aesthetics of Scandinavian modernism. The set is in very good vintage condition, with only minor glaze crazing inside the cup, and no chips or signs of restoration.
