The 'Muchomorek' cup and saucer from the 'Tom' service is a design by Jerzy Steckiewicz, produced in 1958 at the Wałbrzych Porcelain Factory. Crafted from fine, glazed white porcelain, the set features a delicate, modernist silhouette with a gently flared cup and a slender, well-proportioned handle. The exterior of the cup and the entire saucer are coated in a saturated, warm red, hand-decorated with white dots—arranged in an organic spiral pattern on the saucer and clustered near the rim of the cup, dispersing towards its base. The interior and the handle remain pure white, emphasizing the playful contrast of the decoration. The piece is signed on the base with 'Wałbrzych Made in Poland.' The condition is very good: the porcelain retains its deep gloss, with no visible damage or signs of restoration.This cup encapsulates the spirit of postwar Polish renewal in the late 1950s, when designers sought a new visual language for everyday objects.
