ABOUT PRODUCTID 16731
This decanter, rooted in the Polish Art Deco canon, was produced circa 1930 at the Hortensja glassworks in Piotrków Trybunalski. Crafted from clear glass with a subtly warm, slightly yellowish undertone at the base and a smooth, lustrous finish, it embodies balanced, symmetrical proportions. The form rests on a broad, flat foot of opaque black glass, echoed by a substantial, cylindrical stopper finished with a gently domed top – both black, creating a striking contrast with the transparent body. Decoration is absent: the design leverages color contrast and geometric clarity. The decanter stands approximately 23 cm tall, with a maximum diameter of 10.5 cm. Condition is very good, with only minimal signs of use around the opening; the glass shows no chips or cracks. The silhouette evokes the atmosphere of the interwar period in Poland, where modernity and functional luxury intersected. Its geometric clarity, material weight, and meticulous craftsmanship speak to an age when household objects were designed for visual harmony as well as utility. The wide belly discreetly catches the light, while the black base and stopper anchor the piece in the aesthetic of the 1930s – an era when even everyday items aspired to artful
