ABOUT PRODUCTID 12701
This Art Nouveau decanter, dating from the early 20th century, is made of semi-translucent glass with a distinctive iridescent surface. The vessel displays a palette ranging from deep ruby at the core, subtly shifting toward golden and olive-green hues at the base; in pastel variants, a gentle pale pink with a satin-matte finish emerges. The body features hand-painted botanical motifs: green and teal foliage, a vivid purple thistle, all rendered in a naturalistic style with visible brushstrokes and nuanced shading characteristic of Art Nouveau’s reverence for nature. The slender, gently flaring form—broadening at the base and tapering at the neck—is accentuated by metal mountings in patinated brass, bronze, pewter, or nickel tones. The collar, spout, and decorative handle adorned with a woman’s profile and undulating edge are topped with either a conical or spherical lid. The smooth, lustrous glass displays a metallic sheen, while the matte-finished metalwork is delicately patinated—underscoring the piece’s artisanal craftsmanship. No maker’s marks are visible.
