ABOUT PRODUCTID 41850
This Edwardian decanter from early 20th-century Birmingham is a refined example of English craftsmanship. Made from clear crystal, it features a subtly conical body that widens towards the base, with a finely cut rosette pattern on the underside visible through the glass. The handle, smoothly curved and seamlessly integrated with the body, is also crafted from the same crystal. The neck transitions into a sterling silver (925) collar and a hinged lid, both with a mirror-like polish and original maker’s marks from K & H. A small thumbpiece on the lid and the careful joining of materials highlight the functional and understated nature of the design. With a height of 12 cm and a diameter of 7 cm, the decanter is compact and was intended for serving syrups, juices, or liqueurs. The condition is very good, showing no visible chips, cracks, or repairs; only minimal age-appropriate scratches are present. The decanter quietly evokes an era when the rituals of the table were elevated to daily ceremony. Its cool crystal brilliance and the starburst motif on the base recall refined Edwardian afternoons in English parlors—where every detail mattered, and restraint was the mark of distinction. Silver and crystal combine here in a vessel that still speaks of Edwardian discretion; even a glance through its transparent walls seems to capture a fragment of that poised, bygone world. This piece can
