This multicolored Mandruzzato Murano centerpiece bowl dates from the 1950s and is crafted from layered crystal glass using the renowned 'sommerso' (sun technique) attributed to Flavio Poli. The organic, heart-like form is defined by flowing, soft lines and thick, substantial walls typical of mid-century Murano design. The principal hue is a deep amethyst purple, gradually fading to clear glass at the edges and accented by subtle blue tones, especially evident when viewed against the light. The high-gloss, polished surface enhances the interplay of color and light, with the inner layer appearing more saturated and the outer one more translucent. The base is flat and polished, with no visible maker’s marks. The piece remains in excellent condition, showing no signs of wear or damage.
