ABOUT PRODUCTID 39515
This glass dish from the 1970s exemplifies European modernist design, where organic, sculptural form meets the chromatic experimentation characteristic of art glass from that era. The bowl is crafted from thick, hand-formed glass with softly undulating asymmetrical edges, and its color transitions—ranging from deep cobalt blue at the center through olive green and subtle yellows to a transparent, milky white—create a layered effect of depth and light play within the material. The surface is smooth, polished, and glossy, with visible color layering and a subtly thickened rim indicating robust craftsmanship. The overall condition is good, with minimal signs of use and small scratches typical for vintage glass. The form of the dish embodies the spirit of the 1970s, when European glass designers sought new means of expression, moving away from strict geometry toward soft, natural lines. This object speaks through light and color: each change in viewing angle reveals new layers of hues, as if the bowl narrates the story of glass workshops' experimentation and the artistic freedom of its era. Its surface reflects not only its surroundings but also the history of a time when boundaries between functional objects and sculpture were blurred. The dish can be displayed on a low console made of wood, marble, or metal, where its coloring and organic shape are fully visible. It works well as a centerpiece on a mid-century modern living room table, surrounded by simple, minimalist forms or against a backdrop of 1960s and 1970s studio glass. It may be paired with ceramics in natural tones, a single branch, or left empty to highlight its sculptural quality.Dimensions: height 5.5 cm, width 18 cm, depth 16 cm. Made from thick, hand-formed glass. Preserved in good condition, with minor signs of use typical of vintage pieces.
