This decorative porcelain plate, made in the second half of the 19th century during the Meiji period in Japan, is a work from the eminent Koransha manufactory, signed by Hizen Fukagawa. The body is crafted from exceptionally fine, cool porcelain, finished in a dark blue gradient that transitions from deep indigo to a luminous edge. The central motif, hand-painted in enamel, depicts a bird—rendered in rich yellows and ochres, with black and carmine accents on the head and subtle greenish-blue on its wings—perched on a delicately flowering branch.
