ABOUT PRODUCTID 6160
This decorative set, designed by Just Andersen in Denmark in the 1930s, comprises three pieces: a fluted dish (15 × 15 × 3 cm), a smooth-edged dish (18 × 16 × 2 cm), and an elongated ashtray (18 × 7 × 2.5 cm). Each item is made from a tin and lead alloy, resulting in a characteristic cool, matte silver-gray tone typical of the era. The fluted dish features pronounced radiating grooves, the smooth dish offers softly rounded square proportions with a subtle rim, and the ashtray presents an elongated, oval form with gently upturned ends serving as handles. All pieces are signed on the reverse, retaining original construction details. The surfaces are smooth to the touch, exhibiting natural fine scratches and a uniform patina that speaks to their age. The set is preserved in very good condition, with a consistent patina and no significant damage. Within the geometric lines and restrained silhouettes of these pieces, one hears the disciplined voice of Scandinavian Art Deco—an era that expressed itself through functional clarity and understated dignity. The matte sheen of the metal softly catches the light, while the gentle marks of use evoke decades spent on dining tables and sideboards. Each object seems to quietly narrate stories of old homes and everyday rituals, serving as a backdrop rather than a centerpiece—yet always a subtle participant in the interior landscape. This set would suit a modern dining table or a living room sideboard, where its minimalist forms can harmonize with both classic and contemporary décor. It could be paired with rough-textured ceramics or 1930s–40s studio
