ABOUT PRODUCTID 35694
This Bauhaus-style medical desk, made in Poland during the 1960s/70s, features a minimalist, functional form rooted in mid-century modern design. The construction is grounded in a satin-finished tubular steel frame in cool silver, which encircles and supports the black-painted top and drawer unit. The three drawers and tabletop are finished in a deep, matte black, complemented by elongated cylindrical metal handles that echo the frame's material. Each drawer is fitted with a decorative keyhole escutcheon, serving as an ornamental detail rather than a locking mechanism. The design is compact, with visibly precise metal joints and a subtle 'floating' effect achieved by the cantilevered frame, lending the piece a sense of visual lightness. The left side houses the drawer unit, while the right remains open, reflecting the modernist preference for asymmetry. Materials include painted wood or wood composite and brushed steel tubing, with a smooth surface showing minor paint abrasions and patina consistent with its age, but no significant damage.
