ABOUT PRODUCTID 9776
The Boomerang is a freestanding corner desk designed by Peter Løvig Nielsen in Denmark during the 1970s. Its signature top, inspired by the sweeping curve of a boomerang, features softly rounded edges and a raised lip along the back and sides, providing both visual interest and practical containment for work essentials. On the left, a block of three drawers with integrated, sculpted wooden handles and a lock in the top drawer offers organized storage. The front houses an open bookshelf and a bar compartment with a new mirror. The desk is crafted from teak wood, professionally restored: stripped of the old finish, stained in an oak-like hue, and sealed with a durable semi-matte lacquer that preserves the natural grain and warm, even teak brown color. Slender, tapered legs are joined by horizontal and diagonal stretchers, accented with polished brass details at the joints. The entire construction embodies mid-century modern principles—clean lines, organic form, and functional clarity. The desk is in excellent, restored condition, showing no visible signs of wear; the metal details are polished, and the mirror in the bar compartment is new. This desk carries the voice of Danish modernism from the 1970s: its form is dynamic yet harmonious, as if the designer sought to balance movement with everyday ritual. The gentle curve of the top leads the eye, while the teak’s warm tone invites focus and calm. Brass accents and precise joinery reflect the era’s appreciation for workmanship, and the open shelf
