This freestanding Danish desk from the 1960s exemplifies the Scandinavian interpretation of mid-century modern design. Constructed from solid oak, its warm brown hue with a subtle golden undertone is enhanced by a semi-matte lacquer that reveals the natural grain of the wood. The generously sized top is supported by four tapered legs, joined with horizontal stretchers that recall the era's preference for lightness and architectural clarity. On each side, three deep drawers are fitted with precise rectangular brass handles, while the guest-facing side features an open bookshelf for volumes or display objects. The craftsmanship is evident in the clean lines, concealed joinery, and absence of visible fasteners. A key is included for the lockable drawers. The piece has undergone comprehensive restoration: the old finish was removed, the oak was stained and lacquered, preserving the authenticity of the details. The desk is in excellent, restored condition, with no visible signs of wear or discoloration. This desk channels the spirit of 1960s Northern Europe
