ABOUT PRODUCTID 30408
This freestanding desk, designed by Arne Vodder for Sibast in Denmark during the 1960s, is a quintessential example of Scandinavian mid-century modern design. Crafted from teak wood with a warm walnut-brown tone accented by subtle reddish hues, the surface is finished with a strong semi-matte lacquer that highlights the grain and natural texture. The construction features six symmetrically arranged drawers in two columns, each with integrated rectangular wooden handles, and slender, slightly tapered legs that lend the piece an airy elegance. A bookshelf at the back allows the desk to be positioned centrally in a room, making it visually appealing from all sides. The proportions of the worktop and the generous legroom create a sense of balance and comfort. The desk has been professionally restored: stripped of old finishes, stained, and lacquered, leaving it in excellent condition with no visible wear, damage, or repairs. All components are authentic and original, with a uniform finish throughout. The form of
