ABOUT PRODUCTID 30076
The desk designed by Kai Kristiansen for Feldballes Møbelfabrik in Denmark during the 1960s captures the spirit of Scandinavian modernism in the mid-century era. Its construction features a rectangular top with gently rounded edges, supported by four slightly tapered, round legs that lend a sense of visual lightness. Two symmetrical drawer pedestals, each with three drawers, are equipped with integrated, sculpted wooden handles, while the top drawers include locks. At the front, an open shelf finished in the same warm teak veneer with subtle golden undertones and pronounced grain offers additional storage and display. All joints are meticulously crafted with no visible metal fittings or screws, attesting to the high level of craftsmanship. The semi-matte lacquered surface enhances the natural texture of the wood. The desk is in excellent, restored condition, with a uniform, smooth finish and no signs of use or damage. This piece echoes the voice of 1960s Denmark, an era when harmony between form and function was a guiding principle of design. The teak wood, with its understated sheen and pronounced grain, evokes the restrained elegance typical of mid-century modern aesthetics. The sculpted drawer handles and open bookshelf reveal a respect for daily routines—every detail is considered for ease and comfort. The desk seems to speak of a rhythm of work and contemplation, a place where order and aesthetics coexist in balanced harmony. The desk can be seamlessly integrated
