The DUO desk, designed by Peter Maly for Interlübke in 1986, exemplifies German postmodernism in its most architectural expression. Its construction features two work surfaces—a circular and a trapezoidal top—both crafted from high-quality wood and finished in a smooth, matte white lacquer. The DUO desk gives voice to the decade in which it was created: the 1980s in Germany—a time of bold experimentation with geometry, a playful approach to proportions, and a new vision of furniture as an art object. This desk tells the story of an era eager to break away from convention—its circular and trapezo
