ABOUT PRODUCTID 16824
This large Art Deco crystal inkwell, crafted in Poland around 1920, exemplifies precision craftsmanship and geometric clarity. Its weighty, cubic body is made from colourless, faceted crystal, with highly polished, mirror-like surfaces that enhance the material’s remarkable transparency and interaction with light. Sharply cut edges and perfectly flat sides balance with a finely crafted, rounded inner well designed to refract light, adding a subtle sense of depth. The polished metal lid (likely silver-plated or chromed brass) forms a gently domed, oval profile with a bright mirrored finish—a striking complement to the angular crystal base. All fittings are solid and well joined, including a visible hinge for ease of opening. The piece includes its original removable glass ink insert. Its design is strongly influenced by Art Deco: clear symmetry, strict geometry, and restrained functionalism without excess ornament. Condition: excellent, with no defects or chips to the glass and only a faint, natural patina to the metal, attesting to its authentic vintage
