This Rococo-style desk inkwell, crafted by the renowned Baccarat manufactory in France at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, presents a compact, harmonious form (height 12 cm, base 8.5 × 8.5 cm). The body is made of colorless glass with a subtle warm undertone, finished to a high gloss and adorned with deep, swirling cuts that create a dynamic, three-dimensional effect. The upper section and domed lid are fitted with silver-plated brass mounts, which display a darker, gently matte patina that frames the glass with refined artistry. Decorative motifs include raised acanthus leaves, garlands, and rocaille shells—hallmarks of the Rococo style. The domed lid features an irregular, hammered or leather-like texture, adding visual richness. The inkwell retains its original removable glass insert for ink. The overall construction is seamless and precise, with no chips, cracks, or repairs, while the subtle patina on the metal mounts attests to its authenticity
