ABOUT PRODUCTID 5101
This Scandinavian Art Nouveau (Secessionist) desk lamp from Sweden, dating to circa 1910, exemplifies early 20th-century craftsmanship in Northern Europe. The construction features a gracefully arched arm in highly polished brass, giving the piece a warm, mirror-like golden finish. Stability is provided by a solid, asymmetrical base weighted internally with steel, while three colored glass cabochons—green, red, and blue—offer a vibrant contrast against the brass body. The dome-shaped lampshade is set on a ceramic socket with an integrated rotary switch and is compatible with modern E27 bulbs. The electrical wiring has been replaced for safety, with all other components—including joints and fittings—retaining their original character, free from visible repairs or damage. The lamp is in excellent vintage condition, showing only minimal traces of use and a subtle patina appropriate to its age. The lamp’s form seems to narrate the aspirations of the early 1900s, when Art Nouveau sought inspiration from nature’s organic curves.
