ABOUT PRODUCTID 6573
This executive desk, designed by Gunnar Ericsson for Atvidaberg, Facit AB Buromöbel Zurich in the 1950s, embodies the essence of mid-century Scandinavian modernism. Crafted from solid oak in a warm, honey-toned semi-matte finish, the desk displays the wood's natural grain, while softly rounded corners accentuate its streamlined geometry. The original clear glass panel protects the desktop, extending slightly beyond the edges to highlight the desk's proportions and safeguard the surface from scratches. The construction rests on two pedestals: the left side offers five equally sized drawers, the right features three larger drawers, all equipped with integrated, sculpted wooden handles characteristic of the era. Short, subtly tapered legs set at an angle complete the proportions, while original central locks (with a possibly replaced key) and the absence of a knee-level drawer provide generous legroom and enhanced user comfort. The signature confirms the authenticity of this design. The desk is in good vintage condition—minor wear on the wood finish and gentle patina on the handles are visible, typical for a mid-20
