ABOUT PRODUCTID 29281
The Model 70 desk, designed by Kai Kristiansen for the Danish manufacturer Feldballes Møbelfabrik in the 1960s, stands as a mature example of Scandinavian modernism. Crafted from teak wood in a warm, medium-brown tone with subtle reddish undertones, it features prominently visible natural wood grain. The form is defined by clear, geometric lines and minimalist proportions: two drawer modules suspended under a spacious desktop, the entire piece supported by sled-style legs that taper elegantly towards the floor. Each drawer is fitted with integrated, sculpted handles that accentuate the horizontal rhythm, while two lockable cabinets are set at the front. The construction is precise and cohesive, with refined details and no visible hardware. The desk comes with a single key for the locks. Restored to a high standard – the surface has been cleaned, stained, and sealed with a semi-matte lacquer, with no visible signs of wear or discoloration. This piece echoes the voice of 1960s Scandinavia: harmony between function and proportion, a subdued yet confident rhythm in the teak, which reveals its depth in soft, semi-matte light. The broad desktop invites productivity, while the fluid lines and balanced handles speak of respect for craftsmanship and everyday utility. One can imagine
