ABOUT PRODUCTID 19504
The diatret vase, crafted from pressed soda glass, takes the form of a tall, cylindrical vessel that gently tapers towards the base. Its most prominent feature is the deep, saturated maroon tone with a glossy surface, enriched by subtle color transitions: under strong light, warm red shades play around the rim and base. Proportional vertical facets accentuate the vase's height, while the pronounced diatreta (reticulated) collar is distinguished by precise cutouts and sculptural wave-like patterns. The entire surface is smooth and highly polished, without chips, scratches, or signs of wear. The design reflects the aesthetics of Polish mid-century modern from the 1970s, emblematic of the HSG Ząbkowice collections by Jan Sylwester Drosd. It has been preserved in excellent, unrestored condition with no repairs or damage. This vase, as if echoing the voice of the 1970s, speaks of the pursuit of lightness and sculptural clarity in everyday objects. The maroon glass, illuminated by natural light, reveals warmth and depth yet always retains an elusive opaqueness. The diatreta collar—an openwork wave—evokes the delicacy of Art Nouveau jewelry, while the dynamic silhouette alludes to the optimism of Polish glass design during the heyday of artistic glassmaking. In the living room, the vase may be displayed on a console table beside a lamp with a milky glass shade or a minimalist chrome tray, allowing the glass's sheen and historical detail to come to the fore. It may be paired with other 1970s elements—such as a graphite mirror, velour upholstery, or a geometric rug—but also stands out as a statement piece in more eclectic, collector's interiors, where its bold color and striking form maintain their distinct presence.
