ABOUT PRODUCTID 28577
This 1960s dining chair from Vamdrup Stolefabrik is a quintessential example of Scandinavian Modernism. Its construction features solid teak wood in a warm, medium brown tone with a matte finish that reveals the natural wood grain. The silhouette is slender and balanced: a high backrest with four slightly curved vertical slats and a subtly rounded top rail ensures both comfort and openness. The seat is newly upholstered in a high-quality, matte azure blue textile, harmonizing with the wood in both texture and color. Tapered legs with rounded edges and visible joinery highlight the chair’s craftsmanship. The proportions—generous seat and tall back—are characteristic of mid-century Danish design. The chair is in very good, restored condition, with new upholstery and refreshed wood finish.
This form echoes the voice of 1960s Scandinavia: calm, balanced, with a clear emphasis on function and detail. The teak wood seems to tell a story of an era where simplicity was a mark of refinement, and every curve of the backrest recalls memories of everyday rituals and gatherings. The soft azure blue of the seat conjures images of northern light gently diffused across interiors, while the textile’s texture invites moments of repose.
