The Quadrondo dining table, designed by Erwin Nagel for Rosenthal Einrichtung in the 1980s, exemplifies German late modernism where minimalist form meets functional innovation. Its construction features a cylindrical, stable pedestal and an ash veneer tabletop finished in a cool white tone, with the subtle wood grain remaining visible. The table’s key characteristic is its transformation mechanism: each of the four quarters can be unfolded, converting the piece from a round to a square table measuring 140 × 140 cm. The matte, uniform finish is uninterrupted by decorative accents—pure geometry and robust edges define the design. Only minor signs of use typical for vintage furniture are visible, such as light surface scratches and subtle ageing, with no major damage or restoration. Condition: good, all elements authentic and original. Quadrondo tells the story of German precision and the fascination with pure form characteristic of the 1980s: its transformable top speaks the language of an era dominated by logic, clarity, and function.
