ABOUT PRODUCTID 36100
This 1960s teak dressing table, designed by Arne Vodder for Ølholm Møbelfabrik, stands as a prime example of Danish modernism. The form is defined by harmonious proportions and a warm, medium-dark teak brown, with a pronounced natural grain emphasized by a satin finish. The tabletop features a glossy black glass insert that quietly contrasts with the organic character of the wood. Four slender, outward-angled legs and three drawers with subtly sculpted, handleless fronts give the piece a sense of lightness and clarity typical of Vodder’s style. Above the tabletop sits a large, rectangular mirror in a minimalist teak frame, mounted with visible metal fasteners that allow for angle adjustment. The overall condition is excellent: following a careful restoration, the mirror and black glass are new and flawless, the wood surfaces are smooth, and the construction lines remain crisp and precise. The Vodder dressing table speaks in the language of Scandinavian restraint: its shape is inviting rather than dominant, drawing the user into a daily ritual. The warmth of the wood and the coolness of the black glass meet in a gentle dialogue, evoking the spirit of the 1960s when design sought both functionality and user-friendliness. The piece almost whispers of an era that prized naturalness and discretion—its slender legs and subtle details echo the Danish design philosophy, where every element serves the harmony of the whole. This dressing
