ABOUT PRODUCTID 2942
The Borocrystal, Chribska alcohol set from the 1950s is a refined example of Czechoslovakian mid-century modern glassware. The set comprises a shaker (29 cm tall, 10.5 cm diameter) and six glasses (7.5 cm tall, 6 cm diameter), all crafted from topaz-colored glass with a semi-translucent, subtly matte finish. The cylindrical shapes are accentuated by geometric decoration: large, evenly spaced gold dots and multiple horizontal gold bands wrapping both the shaker and glasses. The shaker features a polished brass fitting, which stands out as a bright highlight against the warm brown glass. Etched and polished details attest to the high level of craftsmanship typical for Borocrystal. The gold decorations remain intact and vibrant, with no signs of wear or damage, and the set is excellently preserved without any need for restoration. This set embodies the optimistic spirit of the postwar era, a time when Czechoslovakian glassware achieved international acclaim by merging artisanal tradition with modern aesthetics. The topaz hue evokes the inviting glow of mid-century living rooms, while the gold accents lend a lightly theatrical flair. The rhythmic, geometric motifs seem to recount an age when daily rituals were imbued with a sense of celebration—each toast becoming an occasion to appreciate
