ABOUT PRODUCTID 34041
This original English drop-leaf table from the 1930s is crafted from solid oak in a warm, medium brown shade with a subtle golden undertone. The natural, pronounced wood grain is accentuated by a satin, semi-matte finish, which highlights the texture without excessive gloss. Six barley twist spiral-turned legs—an iconic motif of late Victorian and early 20th-century British furniture—lend the piece both decorative character and a sense of structural solidity. Rectangular stretchers connect the legs, providing stability and a geometric counterpoint to the ornate leg design. The tabletop consists of a fixed central section and two semi-oval hinged leaves, easily adjusted with sliding supports, so the table transitions fluidly from a narrow console to a full dining surface. The joinery and proportions reveal the precision of period craftsmanship, while the color remains consistent, subtly varied by age.
