These late 19th to early 20th-century table scissors are a refined example of Polish eclectic craftsmanship. Crafted from silver-plated brass with forged steel blades, they combine practical function with decorative artistry. The handles are elaborately adorned with sculpted wings and cherubic faces, while the shank features intricate vegetal arabesques, a central heraldic shield, and classical scrolls. The overall tone is a cool, subtly aged silver with a satin finish, and the symmetrical, ornate silhouette is distinctly historicist in character. The scissors rest in their original decorative case, lined with soft plush to protect the blades from dulling or damage. The outer surface of the case is embellished with delicate arabesques and a blank heraldic shield, intended for personal engraving. Dimensions of the case: 11.5 cm in length, 5.2 cm in width, and approximately 1.6 cm in thickness. Condition: very good – all decorative elements are original, the blades remain sharp, and the case reliably protects the piece from external factors.These scissors evoke the spirit of late historicism: a sense of salon rituals and the era’s reverence for detail, when even utilitarian objects were treated as miniature sculptures.
