This porcelain egg set from the 1930s, produced in Czechoslovakia, comprises a tray, an egg cup, and a dual-compartment condiment holder. Each piece is crafted from fine, thin white porcelain with a glossy glazed surface. The entire set is richly adorned with a multicolored cubist transfer print featuring oriental motifs—stylized figures in traditional Asian attire, geometric patterns, and patchwork backgrounds. Dominant colors include gold, red, orange, blue, green, black, and purple, giving the set a striking, decorative appearance. The rims of all pieces are finished with a thick, hand-applied gold band—also present on the base and rim of the egg cup and inside the salt holder—highly reflective and contrasting with the matte printed areas. The set is preserved in very good condition, with no visible signs of wear, chips, or restoration, and bears clear marks from the Epiag factory in Altrohlau and the decorating studio in Wałbrzych.This set seems to tell the story of breakfasts nearly a century ago, when European Art Deco aesthetics met a fascination with the Orient and avant-garde cubist motifs.
