This compact electric alarm clock by Balance was produced in Germany during the 1980s. Its minimalist body is crafted from matte black plastic with a subdued, satin finish. The round dial is protected by a slightly domed, clear plastic cover, while the dial itself features crisp white Arabic numerals and linear hour markers, each highlighted with small green luminescent dots. The hour and minute hands are white with central green luminous inlays for night-time visibility, while the slender, glossy red seconds hand provides a striking accent. Bold 'Balance' and 'QUARTZ' signatures are present on the dial. The design adheres closely to the functional minimalism characteristic of the 1980s: geometric proportions, absence of excess decor, prioritising utility and legibility. The form rests on a simple rectangular extension of the black housing. The clock is preserved in very good condition with only minor traces of use, including faint marks on the plastic cover and subtle scuffs on the body.
