This modernist entomological school display from 1960s Czechoslovakia exemplifies mid-century educational design. Presented in a deep, rectangular wooden frame finished in matte, cool black, the display is divided into two sections. On the left are a black-and-white insect portrait, a dried leaf, and three authentic pinned specimens (larva, pupa, beetle), all labeled in Czech; the right side features a cross-sectional apple model made of painted plastic in subdued reds and greys, alongside three more authentic specimens (caterpillar, pupa, moth). Every element is arranged on a slightly yellowed, spot-marked paper background that reveals the passage of time. A new glass front and frame ensure the display’s stability and clarity, while original school markings remain on the reverse.
