ABOUT PRODUCTID 38726
This Windsor Loucky espresso cup and saucer from Karlovy Vary exemplifies refined European design of the 1950s. The set features a delicate, thin-walled cup and matching saucer, crafted from fine, glossy white porcelain. The exterior of the cup and the main area of the saucer are finished in a cool, medium periwinkle blue, while the interior and central well remain crisp white, creating a vivid contrast. Hand-applied gilded details include a slender rim on both pieces, a band at the cup’s base, and a fully gilded, elegantly curved handle. The saucer displays a gently scalloped edge that echoes the subtle undulations of the cup’s lip. Proportions are balanced: the cup measures 5 cm in height, 6.2 cm in diameter, and 7.5 cm in length with the handle; the saucer is 11.5 cm in diameter and 1.5 cm high. The set is in excellent collector-grade condition, with no chips, cracks, or wear to the gilding. This porcelain encapsulates the postwar Central European spirit—delicate yet bold in its details. Each element reflects a time when the tradition of craft met the fresh dynamism of modernist design. The subtle gilding and geometric handle nod to Art Deco, while the airy form and contrast of blue and white evoke the optimism and clarity sought in the 1950s. Though small in scale, the cup and saucer recall moments
