ABOUT PRODUCTID 28942
This extendable dining table from the 1950s, manufactured by Czech company Tatra Nabytok, embodies the essence of Central European mid-century modernism. The construction features solid, slightly tapered legs and a fully veneered wooden surface in a warm, honey-brown tone with a semi-matte sheen. The tabletop draws attention with its expressive wood grain, while the softly rounded corners and absence of visible hardware emphasize the minimalist, functionalist design typical of the era. A key feature is the original patented extension mechanism, allowing the table to reach up to 170 cm in length—a solution characteristic of the 1950s, when practicality and adaptability were paramount. The meticulous craftsmanship is evident in the precisely aligned central seam and the harmonious color transitions between the top and the legs. The overall condition is very good; the table has undergone partial restoration, including a minor, professionally repaired veneer section (approx. 2 cm) on one of the extension leaves, visible only upon close inspection.
