ABOUT PRODUCTID 38209
This extendable dining table, designed by Ib Kofod-Larsen for the British manufacturer G-Plan in the 1960s, embodies the essence of mid-century modern aesthetics. Crafted from teak wood in a warm, medium-brown tone with subtle reddish undertones, its semi-matte finish accentuates the distinctive wood grain. The rectangular top is framed by solid wood edges, while the gently tapered legs and delicately shaped underframe stretchers lend the piece a visual lightness. The table features two leaf extensions concealed beneath the top, allowing its length to be smoothly adjusted from 152 cm in standard setup to 198 cm or up to 244 cm. The silhouette is minimalist, free from visible hardware or superfluous ornamentation, and the proportions ensure ample legroom. The preserved manufacturer’s mark authenticates its origin. The table is in restored condition, following professional woodworking restoration – the surface is smooth and even, without visible traces of wear or damage. This table speaks with the voice of 1960s British modernism: it tells a story where functionality meets a refined sense of proportion and subtle elegance. Through clean lines and carefully balanced details, Kofod-Larsen suggests that everyday moments can be as harmonious as the table itself. The teak surface gently reflects light, while the balanced silhouette invites gatherings – as if the table awaits the clink of cups and conversations that will animate its space. The table could be paired with slender-legged wooden
