This figural Art Nouveau centerpiece, produced by WMF in Germany at the beginning of the 20th century, embodies the hallmarks of the Art Nouveau era. The main structure is crafted from silver-plated pewter, imparting a cool, slightly matte sheen with a subtle patina, characteristic of antique metalwork. The base and slender stem are adorned with flowing lines and stylized plant motifs, while openwork details highlight the ornamental quality of the design. The upper section holds a clear, cut glass insert with a scalloped edge and geometric engravings—a later addition, yet perfectly matched to the original frame. The highly polished glass contrasts with the restrained luster of the metal, and the piece displays notable craftsmanship in both metalwork and glass cutting. The overall condition is very good, with no visible damage and only minor age-appropriate signs of use; the surface remains well preserved.This piece seems to speak of the turn-of-the-century moment when organic Art Nouveau lines entered the salons of European bourgeoisie.
