ABOUT PRODUCTID 38543
This antique toothpick holder from the early 20th century was crafted by the distinguished German manufacturer WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik), embodying the decorative and functional values of fin de siècle tableware. Made from silver-plated white metal, the piece features a cool, silvery hue with subtle patina accentuating the sculptural details and reliefs. The central scene presents a finely modeled girl in a dress, standing next to a tree stump that serves as the actual holder. The ornate base is adorned with rococo-style scrollwork, flowing lines, and vegetal motifs, highlighted by gentle gilding and soft transitions in texture. The removable glass insert, with a ground edge, is decorated with a gold botanical pattern; a small chip on the rim remains discreet within the overall harmony. The underside bears the WMF maker's mark. The condition is very good – all original components are present, with only minor age-related wear and natural patina visible.This miniature tableau echoes
