This detective duck figurine, crafted in Germany in the 1960s, is a hand-painted papier-mâché object defined by its bold forest green. Its long, stylized trench coat features black-painted buttons, a belt, and outlined pockets with a distinctive glossy finish. A black fedora hat with a matching green ribbon, a cream-white face with an exaggerated black eye, and the whimsical red dot at the tip of the beak all reflect a nod to mid-century surrealism. Beneath the coat, the duck dons a visible white shirt and green tie, while the beak and feet are rendered in warm, shaded mustard yellow. The hand-molded surface reveals the hallmarks of traditional papier-mâché: slightly irregular relief, visible brushstrokes, and subtle creasing.
