The porcelain figurine 'Angelfish' is a striking example of Polish modernism from the late 1950s, designed by Henryk Jędrasiak for Chodzież Porcelain Works. Crafted from high-quality white porcelain, the piece is finished with a lustrous, perfectly smooth glaze. Dominated by black and white tones, achieved through spray-painted decoration and asymmetrical stripes, the figurine’s dynamic, geometric form evokes the movement of a fish. The base is flattened for stability, with no visible joints, while the factory mark 'Chodzież' in a triangle and the hand-applied paint number (47 14 KD) confirm its authenticity and origin. The height is approximately 11 cm, length about 17 cm. The object is preserved in very good condition, free from chips, cracks, or repairs; both glaze and decoration remain intact. This figurine echoes the spirit of Poland’s New Look era—a movement that, after 1956, brought a breeze of modernity and creative freedom into everyday interiors. Jędrasiak’s angelfish, distilled to a bold, almost abstract silhouette, speaks in the optimistic language of the political thaw: sharp lines, geometric cuts, and the interplay of black and white, all orchestrated to suggest the rhythm and lightness of water. The piece rejects ornamental excess in favor of pure form, while retaining the noble sheen of porcelain. The figur
