This Art Nouveau firescreen, dating from around 1910, is crafted from cast iron and steel for durability and longstanding presence. The surface is finished in a deep, glossy black with a smooth, lacquer-like appearance. At its center, a hand-painted rectangular panel displays a botanical motif—trailing leaves and berries rendered in gold, ochre, yellow, brown and subtle green, with the flowing, organic lines characteristic of Art Nouveau, bordered by an elegant gold and reddish outline. The slender legs, gently splayed and curved outward, introduce a hint of the era's signature lightness, while the slightly arched profile and rounded vertical edges further enhance its decorative effect. Proportions and detailing remain authentic to the style and period. The firescreen is in very good condition overall, with only minor, localized paint chips and delicate signs of age at the lower part; there are no significant defects.
