The WMF fish server container, crafted in Germany circa 1890–1900, exemplifies the refined craftsmanship of the late 19th century. The body is made from clear, cut crystal glass with a geometric, grid-like pattern, lending the piece a structured and sophisticated appearance. The lid’s handle, depicting a fish and trident, alludes to mythological motifs and reflects the era’s inclination to infuse daily objects with symbolism. The interplay of cut crystal, gleaming silver, and guilloché decoration echoes the sensuality and optimism of Art Nouveau, while the piece itself seems to recall domestic rituals of serving delicacies, where every detail was imb
