ABOUT PRODUCTID 20093
This glass fish sculpture was created in 1960s Czechoslovakia by Josef Rozinek and Stanislav Honzik in the Exbor glassworks, Nový Bor. Crafted from substantial crystal glass, hand-formed and highly polished, it features fluid transitions from amber-yellow through deep blue and green to a transparent base. The elongated, stylized silhouette and geometric profile reflect the mid-century modern aesthetic that defined Czech design of the era. Fine engraved lines accentuate the fins and tail, while the piece is anchored on a smooth, rounded clear glass base. The sculpture shows no signs of wear or damage and is preserved in very good condition. This piece echoes the spirit of 1960s experimentation, when Czech glassmakers embraced new approaches to color and the manipulation of light. Its streamlined form evokes movement and the fluidity of the underwater world, while the multicolor glass allows light to cascade through, creating shimmering reflections. The stylized outline carries the optimistic tone of an era in which material gained artistic freedom, and every detail—from the engraving to the sheen—became a testament to technical precision and bold design. The sculpture may serve as a striking accent in a living room, placed on a wooden or marble console among minimalist mid-century furnishings. Pairing it with a mirrored or dark background will emphasize the colors and translucency of the glass, while surrounding it with other art glass pieces or simplified ceramics will highlight its modernist nature. It would suit both collector’s interiors and contemporary spaces that appreciate subtle references to 1960s design.Dimensions: height 21 cm, length 32 cm, width 13 cm. Material: hand-formed and polished crystal glass. To preserve the refined surface, it is recommended to clean with
